how do standard deviation, range, spec limit and confidence interval differ when constructing a run and control chart?

I'm having a hard time with your question, do you want the equation for standard deviation? The range is the lowest value to highest value, confidence interval is a chosen constant (usually 95-99%) you can locate a confidence interval chart that will provide you with t or z values to use in your calcualations and you will say with 95 or 99% confidence results lie from blank to blank. As far as run and control, I think you have one item that is controled like would be on the x axis of a graph, like if you were doing how much people weigh at different ages, age would be on the x axis (it is controlled) and the y axis would be weight, since it is the trend to be determined. Email me if you need help on standard deviation, it is a whole process, but easy once you learn.
