Try baking soda or alum. The crystal form of alum is a deodorant. To use it in your shoes you have to heat it up on a very low temperature so that the water evaporates and it turns into a grayish-white chalky substance and then you have to turn it into powder. Use a couple teaspoons of it in each shoe and leave for a couple days. Normally one treatment will take care of the smell but if the smell is really bad you may have to repeat it once or twice to get rid of the odor. My mom used to use alum in my brothers' snickers and my dad's shoes, It really works. Trust me!

lysol disenfectant would probably be just as good as anything, if I were to use a chemical from my lab, couldn't use an acid or base, maybe a hydrocarbon like hexane to grab the grease, then soapy water to remove the hexane??????

I CONFIRM THE PREVIOUS OPINIONs...some other guy was very angry and he decided to burn the stinky shoes!!!

WARNING!! This is a laughing note...DON'T BURN HIS SHOES, IT MAY LEAVE DIRTY, CLOUDY and STINKY FUMES.
