most of us out there have something missing inside of us that we try to fill with all this sh*t that we are bombarded with on tv or in magazines all day, everyday. We are told to never be satisfied, and that we will not be good enough without this or that. most of us are lonely in one way or the other, and we think that someone else is completely happy, and we need what they have so we can be the same way.

The thing about that is that we will never be complete. Someone will always have more, or better things. The tough thing is to try to set all these wasteful thoughts aside and see that we really have it pretty good, even though some have it better.

I think we envy a person's materials possessions, lifestyle, money, etc because we simply don't have the time or means to obtain or live it ourselves . We envy a person's situation because we think we can do a better job ourselves, or believe nothing like that could ever happen to us. As well, I think many people do appreciate what they have, but they also feel they can do more

Our minds are hard-wired to envy. To make things worse, we are constantly bombarded by marketers telling us that we "can't live without" some product. Its all about power and feeling more important/superior to someone else. I don't think it is something that we can really get rid of. If it isn't material possessions, then it is spending time with a person, or whatever.

The good things get lost when we are not satisfied.
The problem is we realize it too late.
It's just a frame of mind. Envy is a waste of time.

Good day.

Most of us don't know what it's like to not have everyday conveniences all the time. If we were deprived of all of them for awhile, then we would better appreciate everything and not have time to be wanting so much more.

i guess its because we are really never satisfied. there will always be something or someone that we wish we had, even if we are already sitting pretty. it's sad i know, but i guess that's part of human nature - to want, to desire. things will stay like this unless we all pull a budda and give up wordly things and live as monks or vegabonds.
