Gahh! I took off all the hairs on my lip by waxing but then I still got a five o'clock shadow!! Is there anyway I can get rid of that? I have fairly dark skin and black hair. I used a body and bikini wax since I didnt have proper lip waxing... is that bad? could that have been the reason for my dreadful five o'clock shadow?? Please say no...

I've had a similar problem to yours, actually.

What you do is bleach it first, then wax it. I know this sounds weird, but the bleach goes first because some of it can appear to temporarily bleach your skin. The wax strip (next time, you should use a proper one) goes on next so that you can get rid of a few of the upper bleached layers of the epidermis as well as your facial hair.

I just get a generic brand of wax strips, but for the bleach, I wouldn't choose anything other than Sally Hansen. There's one that's raspberry-scented that'll do a pretty good job without asphyxiating you with that horrible smell associated with bleach.

Good luck and I hope this helps. :-)

i have the same problem and it sucks i woiuld go and gt it done if i were u.some people are telling u to use bleach but if we wanted to lighten it and not get rid of it that would be fine in this situation thats not the case.dont re-due it it will leave a rash with red little bumps on your face and then they turn into white heads.buy a better brand next time.i buy the wax that is already on strips all u do is rub it in your hands to warm it up pull the two pieces apart stick to your lip smooth it and pull. the brand is sally henson u can buy it at wal-mart for about 5 dollars and it will last about 6 months.a lot cheaper and less time then having it done good luck

Peoples faces are sometimes very sensitive. I wouldn't use a product specified for bikini or body on my face. If you feel that you are seeing a five o'clock shadow then go to the store and by bleach for the face. You can probably get it at a drug store or at a beauty supply store. This product will lighten the color of the hair so it blends better with the face.

Using bikini wax could be a problem because the hair on your lip is thinner than hair in the other area. You could just buff it instead.

omg! the same happened to me. go to a spa and get it done, thats what ive been doing now. the cheap wax makes it stubbly especially sally Hansen. seriously, a Chinese girl who works at a spa will do it the right way. after all, it is her job! (:
