I'm currently in my 4th day of 'gutting' a house with the ole lath and plaster. The house was built in the 1920s. By the end of the day, I'm head to toe in dust/particles. This my sound gross but my snot is black/gray.

I would like to know how safe it really is to work in this environment. I have a feeling its just a little irritation (had a mild noise bleed today) or is it more serious (could possibly be hurting my lungs without a face mask.

Thanks

Any inorganic particles inhaled into your lungs can cause problems. Especially if they are lead or asbestos, both I believe were used extensively in the 20's. Why not use a mask? less than 5 bux will get you a whole pack of em.

If your next question is "Walking in front of Bus: Impact Danger?" then don't bother with the mask as you probably won't live long enough to be hurt by a little lead.
