when car starts to slow down it starts to shudder then when it comes to a stop it cuts out and then it will start but when i out it in gear it then cuts out again it will run after sitting for a couple of hours what could be causing this???

you could have gotten some bad gas with water in it or you need to have your entire system flushed out.

The other answers really weren't mechanics I see. If your car is running terrible when it reaches operating temps then its a head that is cracked. What is happening here is... When the metal expands from the heat there is a small crack that is allowing leakage of some sort into the intake or exhaust port or allowing water into the cylinder. I would be checking your oil to make sure there isn't anti freeze in your oil, that will ruin the engine for sure.

It could be vapor lock. I had a similar problem on my 1992 Buick Skylark a few years ago. For me I had to get the water pump replaced.
