GIRL NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR CHILD, IT IS NORMAL FOR BABIES FROM NEWBORN TO ABOUT 6 MONTHS TO WANT TO SLEEP ALL DAY. I'M A MOTHER OF 3 KIDS AND I'M PREGNANT RIGHT NOW. THE YOUNGEST BABY THAT I HAVE IS 1 YEAR OLD THAT HE JUST TURNED THIS FEBRUARY. TILL THIS DAY SOMETIMES HE SLEEPS FOR UP TO 5-6 HOURS STRAIGHT WITHOUT A PROBLEM. OF COURSE KEEP YOUR EYE ON YOUR CHILD WHEN THEY HIT THE PILLOW, BUT DONT FREAK OUT UNLESS YOUR CHILD IS STRARTING TO ACT FUNNY WITH SYMPTOMS. THE SLEEPING ITS DUE TO THEIR STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG UNLESS YOUR CHILD HAS HEALTH RELATED ISSUES. BABIES HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN AND SOMETIMES THEY JUST WANT TO REST ALL THE TIME. WHEN YOUR BABY IS UP, TRY TO DO THINGS THAT WILL KEEP HER/HIM UP. I WOULDN'T WORRY SO MUCH IF I WAS YOU.

There are a lot of things to consider here.
1. Is he sleeping through the night? 4 month olds should sleep between 10-14 hours in a full day. Usually that means mostly at night, one big nap, and 2-4 small naps a day. Count his wake hours to see where he is at.
2. Is he getting enough to eat? If not, he will sleep. If so, is he having at least 1-2 poopy diapers a day? Poop means he is eating well.
3. Is he bored? Are you keeping him visually and auditory stimulated throughout the day? Babies who aren't played with tend to sleep longer.
4. Is he over-stimulated? Is too much going on around him? Babies who are around lots of noise and movement and people shut it all out by diverting attention, crying, or sleeping.
If none of these sound like an issue with your little one, check with your ped.

my bub is nearly 4 mths and she still sleep amost all day and all night, and gets up 4 feeds only, she is my 4th and my others were not like her, they never slept, so i sometimes think theres something wrong, but i always remember the health nurse saying sleep brings on sleep, and thats true, as long as shes drinkin, and dosent have any sick symptoms, good luck

Lucky you! My son is 3 months and he's awake all day. I can't get anything done. It's normal though, but if you are worried I'd see a doctor.

that is normal if they are going through alot of growing, and of course most 4 month olds are. so if it doesnt appear that there are any other symptons your infant is fine. growing is alot of work.
