well i have been dancing for ten years and the more you stretch and practice the better you become so you may be sore the next day but if you continue doing it you will get great results and it will be worth it! Good luck!

OK I'm a dancer too but my suggestions are take it slowly if you rush it to fast you could get an injury or pull a muscle! Also do the buttery fly stretch and work on your kicks (to the front side back) that will help you! Another stretch is stand w/your feet about 6 in. apart and stretch down. And lay w/your legs out and try and reach for your toes w/your legs straight

well you need to do it the correct way and continue with it...
flexibility is not a one day get it thing...
some people stretch fast but some are slower.
so the correct method of stretching. ask a fren to help you with the stretch. do not push urself and jerk during stretching. hold at the max point for some time.
the reason for losing it is purely bercause u stopped ur flexibility stretching. human body is like a rubber band. once u stretched it, it will loosen, but when u dun, it will return back.
continue and pesisit on... you will do it, just like me!
drink more water.

Just keep stretching. Even when you are sore, you need to stretch. As for the jumps, just keep practicing. If you used to be good at them, you know how to do them. If you're getting back into dancing, you will not be able to do as well as you used to right away. It will take time to get back to where you used to be.

You need to work on your middle splits, and not just your right splits too. Go up to a wall and lay down towards the wall with your butt as close to the wall as you can. Then spread your legs apart and either have someone push on ur legs to make them go down further or you can press down on them. Kind of push yourself for this but you need to bounce your legs a bit to make your them go farther down.
Also for your back, if you need help there, you can do log lifts. Which you lay on your stomache and Lift up ur upper body with using your arms and look toward the sky. Keep on going back, and eventually you will be doing bridges in no time. This helps a bit with back flips too.
U lose flexablity when you stop and let your muscles heal. Keep stretching no matter what. Also if it starts to hurt too much, pain killers are your best friend, also use hot compresses for muscle aches. Baths work wonders too.
For your jumps, work up to the higher jumps with this:
Stand with your heels touching and bend your legs. Then force your legs together and jump. Keep your toes pointed. If you work on this, and keep on trying to go higher, you will improve on jumping. Once you get high enough, and master the splits, you will be able to do toe touches.
If you need anymore help, just ask. Good luck!
