Wikipedia was first designed to let people post entries on any topic that they wanted to. Kind of like a forum, and then they took the collection of topics and made an encyclapedia which anyone can add or take away info from.

There is no author for wikipedia. If this is for a project you can't be too sure the information is true, because everyone can edit wikipedia. I am sorry to tell you this.

There is no one "author". Wikipedia is from many contributors .. just, in most cases, common people who have done research. It should not always be considered as factual, but is a good reference.

Wikipedia articles are written by volunteers and can be edited by ANYONE (unless they’ve changed that recently), and because of that sometimes the information on it is not entirely accurate.
