now if u all were passed the age 40 and not married would u be sad? why or why not? how would u feel? is marriage in our lives really important to having a "happy" (or not sad) life?would u be EXTREMELY SAD or would u just keeping living life and not worry about marriage? what about be married and having no children? what if u want to get married or plan to by ur 40 but don;t want children? is that ok, would ppl look at u different or is just ur choice? so if u were not married by the time u were 40, would u be (extremely) sad?

I'm past the age of 40 and not married...Nope not sad. Yeah I was married when I was 40 but not happily. I am far happier now being single than I was when I was married, enough to know that I'm never going down that road again. I don't equate marrige with happiness or the lack of marriage with sadness.

Marriage is a wonderful thing. A special commitment between two people that can never be taken away from them. If your not married by 40 it shouldn't be a big deal. That just means either you haven't found the one that completes you, or your still enjoying life. Then again some people just can't handle being married. I don't know if it's the commitment that scares them, but it all depends on the person. I think.

In these times 40's are still young. Life has ways of leading us down different paths. If its meant to be it will happen. I wouldn't stress myself over it though, that wouldn't make me any more attractive or solve any issues I have with it. I might feel like loneliness would be a part of my golden years without kids and grandkids. Stats do say married couples have a tendency to life longer lives. it does say a lot when you can have another there for you through your happy and sad times. It takes some of the pain away on sad times and makes you happier in pleasant times cause it is shared.

I would be sad having no children and being by myself for the rest of my life. I'd go crazy
