You need to think long and hard before you decide you want a c-section with out reason. It is a major surgery and a long recovery, even for the healthiest women.
I had a c-section with my daughter because I wouldn't dilate past 6 centimeters. It was horrible. I ended up getting a horrible infection. My doctor had to open my incision in her office, with out any type of pain killer, for it to drain. I had to have a nurse come to the house twice a day to clean and pack my incision for 6 weeks! I was on so many pain killers and antibiotics that I don't remember a lot about the first weeks of my daughters life. My husband had to take a leave of absense from work to take care of both of us. Because my incision had to heal from the inside out, I now have the most hideous scare.
So please think long and hard about electing to have a c-section. I would never want my worst enemy to go through what I did. It was the longest and worst 6 weeks of my life!

You can if you are willing to pay for it and can find a doctor that will do it as some doctors won't do a c-section if there is no medical reasoning behind it. A friend of mine recently had an elective c-section without a medical reason for doing, she just wanted to have a baby without having to got through the pain of labour.

I have a problem with any doctor that would do a c-section just because his patient wants one. It is major surgery and comes with many risks. If you want one just to be able to pick the date or have more control over your delivery, you are nuts. Do your research on the possible complications of a c-section before you make a decision.

Most likely it would be up to the doctor to say yes or no, but you could probably find a doctor who would do it.
Personally I'd rather have had a c-section. Had a lot of problems with labor and delivery. A few years later I had abdominal surgery and it was a much easier experience and I recovered faster from it.

Yes i.e like those celebrities that are two posh to push and do the hard work. However every bit of surgery has its risks, so it is nt recomended, and usually once you have a c sectin sometimes you cant give birth naturally the next time, or there is a greater risk of haemmorhage.

i think of your physician is doing you a extreme disservice by ability of featuring this to you as a marvelous concepts. maximum each respected scientific affiliation advises against non-obligatory C-sections. A C-area is substantial belly surgical treatment, and could be taken care of as such, no longer some "hassle-free way out." uncertain the way it have been provided that nickname, because of the fact it is not. restoration is a lot longer and the aftercare is a lot greater to boot. the negative aspects to the two mom and baby are additionally lots greater. while you're correct approximately cutting by muscle, that is not any longer a one hundred% garuantee that they gained't decrease it (the two inadvertantly or out of prefer). The muscle tissues are pulled aside that would reason trauma and each now and then would desire to be surgically repaired down the line. Even a term toddler while extra by ability of ability of C-area, is a lot greater probable to have respiration problems. reason being: toddler is meant to bypass in the process the start canal, with the amniotic fluid being squeezed out of that is lungs certainly. toddlers born by ability of ability of c-area don't get this perk of nature. i'm no longer attempting to decide you. i certainly do comprehend the terror linked with giving start. you nevertheless have 0.5 of your being pregnant to think of approximately this. I do recommend which you supply it lots greater extreme thought. I had a C-area formerly and am PRAYING i could have a effective VBAC this time. I certainly experience robbed of my birthing journey. It became no longer something like I had constantly dreamed of. ultimate of success to you.

You would have to talk to your doctor. That is a lot of pain to endure for "no reason". What is wrong with natural birth?
