well if im watching a gangster movie then i am actually THAT person who is watching the gangster movie, i don't see how it could be anyone else that is watching it, that is if i am indeed the person who is watching a gangster movie.

Usually I watch a gangster movie for its characters, slangs, and swearing. Not necessarily I need to identify myself with the characters but can't help but to identify a part of me in it (say uncertain and hopeless). Then again it's the tragic ending that saves a soul.

No. No. And hell no! Woody Harrelson said after he did Natural Born Killers he kept having guys come up to him saying they were that character. He thought it was totally mental and creepy. So do a lot of other people. You are not and will not ever be the characters you watch in a movie.

Well, I'm not, but people who watch those kinds of movie would mostly like action movies, except for kids of course, because it'd be bad influence.
