my 11 month old is getting over a yucky ear infection. He has no fever and is still pretty happy but I can tell it is hurting him. I took him to the doc today and he has started anti-biotics. Should I stay home one more day?

I think you should stay home. Your baby is just too young to be left without his mom especially when he is sick....
But also make sure your job allows it and you don't mess it up there. Is there anyone else who can look after him if in case you HAVE to go to work? like a close relative???

it is totally up to u and how u feel about it. are u the sole provider? if u can offord to take off one more day then by all means do so but if u really feel u should be at work then go. ur child seems happy over all like u said so u use ur better judgement. hes ur baby but then there also may be worse days in his life that he needs u more. good luck and God Bless.

If you can do it for sure go for it! However I also know how hard it is when your employer is riding your back because you've missed to many days. I know how hard it is to leave a sick baby at home--I'm fortunate enough to have a fabulous nanny who cares for my girls as if she is their older sister/aunt. Leaving the sick baby with her is still heart breaking but I know that she is in good hands. Do you perhaps have a sitter or family nearby that your son is comfortable/happy with?

I would. Just to be there for comfort.

Of course, it does depend on how your employer will react, and how many days you've been out already.

Is there a friend or relative he feels comfortable with where he can stay?

Good Luck and I hope he gets to feeling better soon!

It would depend on how long you have been off already. You should probably wait for the antibiotics to be in him for 24 hrs. But, if you are going to lose your job, you should probably go. I know, its hard. I am raising 4 of them alone and deal with it a lot. But my employer would get mad. If he is okay, I would go to work.

You could if you wanted to. But if you really need to be at work leave him with some family or someone you know cares for him. I dont see anything wrong with that because paretns have to work and everyone should understand that.

I definitely would stay one more day. That way you know he's safe and you won't be worrying all day if you went to work.

I go to work even if they are not feeling well, unless it is a major major illness, because I know my husband is just as capable as I am at caring for our children.

I would as long as the job would allow it--your baby is more important.
