actually there are some people that can find cheap or mismarked goods and resell them at a higher price. However, for the most part I would argue that this doesn't happen very often since typically one wouldn't take high enough profit using the same medium (ebay) to buy and sell.

For example, if you are to buy widgets in China wholesale and then sell them on ebay; it's more advantageous. Or the opposite, you buy widgets on ebay and turn around and sell them in another market; again more advantageous.

It's not to say that buying and reselling on ebay can't be done; I would just say that it doesn't happen very frequently.

I don't know if it happens, but I have bought things on ebay and then set the bidding at 1.00 (I always set everything at $1.00 with no reserve) and let it go up on its own. I have bought a car on ebay.... drove it for a few months, decided it wasn't the right car for me and then set it as stated above at $1.00 with no reserve and have ended up getting more money then what I paid for it. I don't set the price and I am always honest, I think I may be good at taking photos because my stuff always seems to go for more then other people. I don't know. But to answer your question.... I guess some people might, but it would defeat the purpose of making money because they have to pay for the intial shipping and that would cut into profit. I think more people go to closeout sales or clearance sales, I have know people to do that with stores like Target, Kohls... JC Penney and then buy stuff at 75% off and sell it on ebay.

Hope that helped.

most people use dropshippers. Meaning they have a supplier online who's products they list on eBay. They don't buy that product until it sells. Then they put in the order from their supplier to be shipped directly to their customer. A good example of this type of a site is www.BuyatDiscounts.com. They provide this service for free and they also can help you build your own website or teach you how to sell on eBay. From their site there is also a very low profile website link called "Amazon.com Discount Outlet". This is where you can find most any product listed on Amazon.com at a discount plus any coupons you find that works at Amazon.com also works on this "Amazon.com Discount Outlet site". So look around www.BuyatDiscounts.com and you might find a lot of great info on how to sell on eBay! Good luck and email me if you want to know more.

I know for a fact this occurs, depending on the time in which the item is sold. This is also done by those purchasing items from garage and estate sales for dirt cheap, and then turning around and selling them on eBay for a nice profit. This is what fuels eBay, and what has contributed to their online auction domination.

Yes, I've resold on ebay and made more money, and I've resold and lost some money. It's a gamble sometimes, just depends on what people are looking for at the moment.

I buy off ebay all the time, I have never resold anything I have gotten. I'm sure that is what some people do.

Yes, a lot of people do that. I rarely buy on ebay, but when I do, it is because I need something or want it for myself or a friend.
If people see something that they think they can make a profit on, they buy it and re-sell it.

yes this does happen. a friend of mine use to do that. there are certain times when thing are really cheap and others when prices go up. you have to be constantly on it to know when and what price is right.

no
because they wouldn't make much more money on it
and someone else would be selling it for the lower price
