You should feel comfortable enough to talk with them about anything because they will always have your best interest at heart but as far as friends, it would be nice but they need a parent more than they need more friends.

Yes and no. Parents should definately be people that you can go and talk to about things since they are personally invested in you and your betterment but they are authority and should be treated as such. Even when you are no longer under their care, they should be given respect.

i believe they can be your friend but they should always be a parent first. you can hang out and chill with them, but it shouldnt be all the time

ah, only after you become an adult...sometimes parents are too worried about being "popular" with their kids instead of trying to raise them "right" (i.e. they give their kid junk food to please the child when they need fruits and veggies to keep them healthy).
