I'd rather people think my spouse is ugly rather than stupid, that way other women wont chase after him and people wont take him for a fool.

Would rather have people think my spouse as ugly then as a rock. A brilliant mind is much more resilient toward criticism then just being pretty. She could answer for herself with dignity and defend herself from being taken advantage of.
Being pretty isn't everything but being brilliant is.
