I have some gay friends who I've heard talk about being on "top bunk" or "bottom bunk"...I know it's something gross, but can someone PLEASE explain to me what this means?!

The top bunk as you put it would refer to the penetrator in sex (usually) and the bottom bunk would refer to the penetrated in sex (again usually).

In terms of football, the top bunk is the quaterback and the bottom bunk is the reciever (during sex).

Camping isn't gross. I usually fight for top bunk when I go. Although the old fashioned way is better when you pitch your tents together. :-D

Top and Bottom usually refers to the individuals role in sexual activity. Tops are usually considered the more agressive or dominant role and Bottoms are usually a more submissive role.
