1. Reagan was quoted as saying, "Deficits don't matter."

2. violence increased because the R party used hate and prejudices to motivate votes and support.

3. Poverty increases because they give more corporate welfare and give tax cuts to the rich that cut revenue. They cut taxes but meanwhile increase things like the Pell Grant, tuition cost, et.... the cost of living increases...

4. Crime increases because families are feeling squeezed and have to resort to crime. This is also due to cutting social programs...

I can't debate the crime and poverty statistics, since I haven't seen what you're using as context.

But the deficit spending is due to growth investment: A business borrows to expand and grow it's business. Republican economic theory says that we borrow when we are down to grow the economy. Often that "borrowing" comes in the form of reducing taxes, to increase the spending power of businesses to grow, and hire, and individuals to buy, and support business production, and therefor hiring.

We pay that back when the economy is good. Bush Jr., in example, inherited an economy going south. He immediately cut taxes. But since the economy has been doing well, we haven't received any more tax cuts in the last 4 years. In fact, taxes have again been rising.

Of course, the war spending about doubled our borrowing, in this particular instance.

Reagan did the same thing when he took over in an economic recession. They said at the time our Grandkids would be paying off those loans. But by the time Clinton was two years into his presidency, all of Reagan's debt was gone.

Interesting, huh?

Check the Clinton years. Higher unemployment rates, more blacks in prison due to his expansion of the war on drugs, less money given to charitable organizations due to higher income taxes, etc, etc, etc. All this without even getting more than 42 percent of the vote. But once again, lets not look at anything else, keep on that one track, lest you actually show some cognisant reasoning instead of just pissing and moaning.

Not difficult to lower the national debt when you raise taxes to cover the gap. Also, some sort of proof of violent crime increases due to policies of the current administration would be appreciated.

The meaning of the word of a political party means nothing as it is just a name .Polticians need to be tested for true intent of knowledge and intentions of the way he precieves what is good and evil .As intent to repair society through economics works but only in the right hands as people polticain must have economic knowledgable people in all areas of governments from health , roads .The private sector cannot be trusted with government affairs as there intent is private economics and not public economics as private banks cannot control goverment money either as then the government becomes the private sector and then it loses security of its country and is in the hands of another .Private companies can also risk the security of nation .

It's much broader than economics - the entire philosophy of social stratification the cons espouse is the root cause. Disenfranchisement of non "acceptables" is the best way to describe it. It's fundamentally a flawed ideology in a democracy.

Maybe it's all neo-cons, maybe it's not. I think it comes down to a failed business man failing as president, with the same type of poor decisions that caused his businesses to fail.

Only difference is his dad can't bail him out anymore.

An unpopular leader makes the economy plunge and it is happening with President Bush resulting to more crimes, poverty and debt.

No--I don't think its the economy.

The cons keep saying Bush is a great man and people should follow his example.

I guess some people are.

Why do we carry on our backs the lazy welfare recipients, give the country away to illegal aliens, higher unemployment, and pay taxes up the *** while liberals are in power?
Is it related to the weak impotent spineless liberal politicians?
