why does people's vioce change over time?

i'm in intro to science, and we started a new unit on waves and vibrations, i'm guessing it has something to do with vibrations...could you help me out plz...thx

Because the vocal chords change over time. They become thicker and longer so they vibrate differently. They vibrate at a lower pitch.
