Try going into your control panel, and checking the battary options. It could be that your computer changed is power intake to save energy, though not allowing anything to charge via USB port.

Hope you figure it out.

the batteries are gone.

This is one of the common complaints of the IPOD- the batteries go in 2 years.

You can buy a kit to replace the battery- but it will void the warrenty on the Ipod.

The cost of repair through MAC will cost about the same amount as a new one (you MAY find- but find out first)

have u tried connecting to another usb port on ur computer? try looking for open usb ports on the back of ur computer to plug into and hopefully one will get that charging led to light up on ur shuffle!
