You don't want to kill off all spiders because they're helping to keep your home bug-free. You just want to kill the ones you see inside. Just pick them up with a paper towel and crush them. It's a seasonal thing and you don't want to put down poisons that can hurt you and your child.

I agree - eww get rid of the spiders! If they are only appearing in the carpet, try a carpet cleaning service. This might get rid of them for a period of time. Otherwise you may want to consider hiring an exterminator to find the source of the infestation (I'm assuming you see a lot of spiders and not just an occassional one or two?) and treat that rather than spraying down the poor carpets.

Otherwise I have heard the "hedgeballs" work to keep spiders away. I have never used them, and I have also heard that it is a myth, but they say to put one in each corner of the room. I think they are also called osage oranges.

first of all you keep your 15 mnth old away from the carpet where the spiders are, in case they bite and may be poisonous.

second you buy and spray a insect repellant to kill them

and ooh yuck get rid of them

If you spray for them the spray has to applied directly on them they do not obsorb poison through their pads or "feet" as insects do . If you kill them all the mosquito's and malaria may return.
