so sorry to hear such sad news. Not sure if my post is too late but here it is anyway.

"Heaven's Gift"
Francine Pucillo
Each child a gift to heaven,
Their spirits on the earth
To watch and to protect us
As they received rebirth
Rainbows forged in heaven
While angels fill the skies
Gentle love and elegance
Each lacy wing now flies
Gathered on soft pillow
On billowy sweet cloud
The gift of love and beauty
With halos now endowed
Heaven's entrance filtered
With gentle baby wings
That light our way to heaven
With love they always bring
Jesus holds these children
Forever in His Hands
Gently He will let them go
His love across the land
Feel a breeze upon you
Floral scent so sweet
Angel sent from heaven
Love that's ours to keep.

"The Little Ones"
Author Unknown
Why God takes the little ones
I swear I'll never know
You had so much life to live
It just wasn't time to go.
For comfort, now, I think of you
With tiny little wings
Up above, in a beautiful place,
listening to angels sing.
You'll never know the pain I feel
The hurt you left behind.
Oh, what I wouldn't give to hold you one more time.
I carried you in my womb,
Then I carried you in my arms
And now, until it no longer beats
I'll carry you in my heart

"Sadly Hollow"
Prayer of the Makah Indians
Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there...I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star shine at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry..
I am not there...I did not die.

"A Child Is Now At Rest"
Author Unknown
A child is now at rest
For a safer place she remains
A world of goodness and beauty
A world without worry or pain
No fear will she encounter
For a better place she'll be
A place where the sick are healed
And where blind eyes can see
Our world has forever changed
Our lives are not the same
But close within our hearts
Her precious face remains
We give to her our tears
And our prayers we send above
We cherish all the memories
Filled with happiness and love
She'll have someone to depend on
A helping hand is there to lend
For the Father shall be watching
And in Heaven, she'll have a friend
This battle is faced head on
Many obstacles to overcome
But in the end together,
this battle will be won.

Go to teresagriggs.com She is an awesome speaker who's daughter, Mallory passed away at age 9. My dear friend had a son who passed away at age 2 1/2 months...he died of SIDS...there are tons of websites with poems dedicated to the loss of a baby on some of the SIDS websites if that is what he died from. Your biggest concern should not be about the perfect poem for the funeral, but about being a good friend to the parents of the baby...they are really going to need you for quite awhile. My friend's baby died over a year ago, she now has a new baby (who was born 1 day after the first baby the following year) but still mourns the other one every day. I will pray for you and for them as they will need to turn to God to get thru this trying time. Good luck finding the perfect poem for the funeral...that will be a very challenging day in your life. Stay strong

My Grandson passed on February ninth of 2002. My Sons father in law wrote a poem for him then and I wish I could find it. It was absolutely beautiful and was later entered into a local poetry contest and won. I will keep trying to find it. If I do I will post it as a question. Sorry for the friends loss. I do know how painful it was for me. I still go to the cemetery every week rain or shine. I bought a stone pondering bench and put on the foot of his grave. I sit there for hours sometimes.
We take him Christmas presents and Birthday presents. : (

An Angel
An Angel came one morning,
A visit he did pay.
That angel took my baby,
And tore my heart away.
Also this might be suitable
Alone without you
So innocent was my baby,
An angel in my eye.
My baby didn't whimper,
Only gave a little sigh.
I truly love that baby,
More than words could ever say.
Lord, why did that angel come,
And take my baby away?
The answers, I will never know,
For it is your chosen way.
I know my baby's in heaven,
Safe in your arms, I pray.
Lord, help me to see that light,
So that I may understand.
And when I see my baby again,
It is in your promised land.
BABY ON MY MIND
Baby on my mind
I can’t stop to think about you
It was hard for me to lose you
Half of me have died with you
But I know that you are free in heaven
Walking around
Being happy
Baby on my mind
I grieve the lose of you
Baby on my mind
In my dreams
I see you clear
You had blond hair and green eyes
You were a chubby baby
I hold you in my arms
In real life I will never see you
Or I will never know you
But I guess God was testing me for this
I’ve lost this battle this time
Baby on my mind
I hope I win the next battle
It is almost like being in a war
Lot’s of worries goes through my mind
Baby on my mind
I will provide you with every thing you need when you come
Baby on my mind
I want to be your mother
Forever
And be around to see you grow strong
Baby on my mind
I worried right now if you are going to be healthy?
I hope so
Baby on my mind
I don’t have the right to judge
Only God does

POEM 1
A child, such a precious thing
A child now has angel's wings
A cherub so soft and sweet;
kisses your cheek everytime you weep
Listen mother carefully,
your child speaks through your tears of sorrow
You must proceed with life onto tomorrow.
Your baby watches with heavy eyes,
Show him mommy does more than cry.
J.Silvia (March 19th,2007)
POEM 2
Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby,
Baby, can bring you a heaven sent joy.
Baby... can cause you to weep, tears of rain.
Baby...can fill you with pride, like no other.
Baby...will bring you tenderness, beyond description.
Is there anything, that can compare, to being with
baby...in a quiet moment.?
My, how the love does flow, as one holds their baby.
Baby, who can have you make a fool of yourself, as
you contort your face, to make them laugh.
And have you ever noticed yourself, speaking baby
talk...better than your baby?
Baby, who by their mere glimpse, can bring you
running, crying...laughing at the world.
Baby, a true miracle of innocence, in a chaotic world.
Baby, seems to justify our being...our life.
Baby...Baby...Baby...what would we do without them?
Baby...they undisputable proof, that God is at work.
