i have the bestest of friends in my enitre life but she has her own "clique" should i say? she assures me she will be my best friend forever but i still come second when she says i don't. her 'clique" doesn't like me being friends with her so i broke it off and said this isn't going to work but i still want her as my friend when i know i can't have her. i'm very depressed by this.

Couple of things, you sound as if you don't want her clique running her life, but you're letting them run your life. Secondly, why do you get to pick who she spends the most time with? True friends are there regardless, not just when she's paying attention to you. If you are going to be a friend, you need to be available to her when she needs you, regardless of her behavior. Friendship is love "light". All the rules and only some of the benefits. If you are going to be her friend through thick and thin, good and bad, ups and downs, then do it, otherwise you're fooling yourself. Being a true friend is not easy, and the rewards are only on the inside, because as soon as you demand certain things of a friendship, it becomes something else.

Hold on to her and maybe even become friends with some other people in the clique. Trust me, this has already happened to me before, and just being friends with everyone was the best answer I could possibly get. Good Luck! I hope I made a difference!

Sometimes we have different groups of friends...just because she has another group of friends doesn't mean that she isn't your best friend. Try not to be depressed about it...you just need to try to develop some other friendships with other people that way when she is doing things with her other friends you can be doing things with your other friends. I bet if you get your own "clique" she will want to be a part of it too. Good luck to you Lia! And stay happy...life is too short to spend it worrying about things or being sad. Look for things to do that make you happy. Enjoy life! :)

True friends are a rare find and if you are lucky to have found 1 in your entire life then you are blessed. It is difficult to have a friendship with 1 person if you do not care for all the others she hangs out with. I know it hurts to lose a friend but friends are going to come and go your whole life. Give it some time and maybe you will find someone else who you have more in common with.

those cliques are a killer and a pain ive lost so many friends to them but theres always someone else who could become your best friend just because your in different cliques doesnt mean you cant be friends but watch out if her friends dont like you girls can be horrible to eachother being a girl sucks sometimes because someone always has a problem with someone else and that break up friendships but dont just break up the friendship without talking it out a little good luck

I think you did the right thing. Actions definately speak louder than words - if she cannot include you in her group of friends then she is not much of a friend is she?

Let her go, if she is a really true friend, she will find her way back to you. If not, then she wasn't a true friend after all.
