I'm dong a project for Geography class about Alexandria. I need as much info as possible so links would be helpful. My main topic is how has Alexandria changed through the ages in transportation, clothing, housing, ect. Anything will help : ) thanks.

let me be more specific, what type of clothing was worn back when malexander the great first conquered the area? was it just togas all the way?

Alexandria is the most European influenced and cosmopolitan of all the cities in Egypt.
The housing is much less high rise and concrete on concrete than Cairo.
It is still a major port, though with the advent of air cargo it is not the major link with the world that it was up until the middle of last century.When every ship going through the Suez Canal would put in at Alexandria.
Alexandria is influenced by both French and southern European tastes and these are reflected in the architecture, food and the fashion sense of the modern Alexandrian.
Because of its unique geographical situation it has had been the first step for all travellers coming to Egypt for many thousands of years. It remained so up until last century and the building of the Cairo airport.
Not having an international airport has no doubt impacted on any chance that Alexandria would be the modern capitol of Egypt.
I would suggest that you go to w.w.w.touregypt that is the website of the Egyptian Government Department of Tourism.Just click on the Alexandria link.
Another is called Alexandria on the Web. But you will have to do a Goggle for that as I don't have the web address.

personally, I just go for a sweater, it doesn't get too cold there. Especialy if you live in a country that is naturally colder than Egypt, then Alexandria's winter will be like spring time to you. So take a summer jacket with you just in case

alexandria is warm all the time it is not so hot or cold it is very nice
