Have to laugh at some of the preceding answers...hehehehe, and although I'm a Ben R., fan, I also agree that he got what he had coming to him dicking around in the off-season.
I had him on my Fantasy Football team (league champs, as you can see by my moniker!!) and I think, though, that if you really look at how he did once he came back and was fully recovered from injury, he was pretty darn good, at least fantasy points-wise, after about week 4 of the season.
p.s. I was also a foolish and adventurous young buck once upon a time....just not nearly as talented as Ben. It's tough to get down on him when I remember some of the really stooooooooooooooooopid crap we used to pull in our early 20's............

Big Ben will be back and the Steelers will be a decent team. He is a talented QB but he needs to make better off field decisions, riding a motorcycle without a helmet is suicide, you never know who else is on the road. He doesn't deserve
"a break' he is an NFL player and no pro athlete deserves a break unless there are overwhelming circumstances. He has a bad season and it was due in part to stupid stuff he did off the field. He only had one bad season but he also had a good season where they won the Superbowl. There Steelers should be a good team but I wouldnt put them in the Superbowl simply because they have lost a few key players and haven't made many good moves. I would look for Big Ben to go 9-7 next year and have a decent year stat wise.

He won't get a break from the Nay-Sayers or his critics. They are jealous though, after all Ben went 11th after ELI Manning and Phillip Rivers. Third QB taken and one bought his selection on his last name. Yet we hear with Ben it is the system that makes him look good, didn't hear that about Rivers did you? Didn't hear about how LDT was making him look good did you? As to Big Ben I think he does fine and becomes a good QB as long as the injuries don't hit again. Come on even Weishunt said Ben probably was brought back too soon, so don't try to say the injuries didn't effect him.

Not doing well as a QB? What are they smoking? He was the youngest QB ever to win a Super Bowl. and 14-0 Rookie Record. 5-1 Play-off record. So what he had 1 bad season, he did have career high for TD's and yards this season. But he will be back on top soon.

Next year he will play better. He has had a full year to recover from that terrible motorcycle accident. Very good quarterback he is. Should have his best season next year as long as he does not get hurt anymore. Also should be noted that he gradually got better as the season went on last year. Hopefully he takes that into next year as well.

I say next year he plays well and gets the Steelers back to the playoffs and hopefully another superbowl win. The new offensive coordinator will put in more 4 wr sets making it easier to get better reads. I think last year he started out slow and tried to force too many big plays instead of just letting them come. Once he is patient, Santanio Holmes will be a superstar...

He doesn't deserve a break. All actions come with consequences.... He deserves all crap that comes at him due to his stupidity during the off-season, during the pre-season, season, and post-season.
He is one of the top 3 whiners in the NFL, and just isn't that bright of a guy.
If he was smart, he'd be progressing to being a good QB. But now his accuracy, field vision, and apparently hand/eye coordination is shot to hell... Drop him and get a QB in the draft, quickly

next thing to happen to him will be another SB ring weighing down his hand.............he's healthy, young, and a good leader for the Steelers, sure he had some bad luck.........F anyone who still hates over the motorcycle accident, we all make mistakes, just because he has money doesn't make him less susceptible to momentary lapses in judgment...........anyway he'll be back strong this year and proving all the critics wrong
