Any ideas for a cars themed birthday party?

My son is turning 5 and has chosen a Cars Movie theme for his big day.

Good partys as I see it has few ingridients, lights,food,music,games,decorations,and friends.

Lights:

Go to 1$ shop buy some colorfull lights replace the lights in the house for one day I recomend yellow and red.

Food:

Acording to the movie the cars has not realy eat any thing if I remember right, but they have the final raceing day there were some hot dogs stands on that sciene I think. not so expensive and kids like hot dogs thogh it is not that healthy , on the other hand you canm make simple daw butter sugar and flour and shape it in car shape backe it he will like it I think.

Games:
one game you all can play is the cones game on the back yard . it is very simple game you need spoon and egg . you put the egg on the spoon and hold it with your mouth you need to go il loops beneath the cones and acomplish the whole round without the egg to fall. there supose to be to deferent lanes for two deferent groups of participates. winner get cookie. or 1$ car.

Decoration:

and then download some pictures from the internet print them on your printer. decorate the place with them.

Friends:
invite friends but not to many after all it supose to put your kid in the center of things.

Ok to be honest I haven't seen the Cars Movie. However... I did do a match box car party once.

The part that I think you could easily do for your son's party is to make the cake. What I did was take a plain sheet cake (any flavor will do) and used part of another cake cut into 2 triangles to make ramps that the cars could go up. You can use any type of icing (chocolate for dirt or any kind of white icing mixed with food coloring for grass, a street or anything really). The thing about roads is that they are rather straight so that making something for the car toys is easy.

You can go to Party City or your local party store and get all of the decorations for the movie, Cars. For party favors you can have Nascar toys, pencils with cars on them, candy (got to have candy), and maybe mini activity books. Since your theme is the movie, Cars, you have to have a cake with the characters from the movie or you can have the cake shaped and look like, Lighting McQueen!!!!
