I just reinstalled windows xp on a different computer, and it doesnt seem to be detecting any internet settings. In network connections there doesn't seem to be an icon either, so im guessing that the network driver didn't install..

anyone can help me with this? every network driver i find is above 3-4mb in size and i cant find the exact model to download. im trying to find one that can fit on a 1.4mb floppy.. seeing as how i dont have any other size flash device. if it helps, the computer im on is the same model/brand as the one im trying to setup.

windows xp will automatically install network connections on a p.c. if it detects an ethenet LAN card. please insure that the p.c. you're installing the windows xp on has a LAN card , or maybe the hardware itself is defective, in which case replace it with another PCI ethernet LAN card.

but before you do that, have you looked for the network icon? Go here start>>>control panel >>> switch to classic view>>>network connections
