in episode 6, return of the jedi, when looks kills the rancor, and then the two guys come in, and the big fat guy starts to cry, why did he cry? was it his pet or something? i'm confused, help me

That guy was the guy who was responsible for taking care of the Rancor. That was his whole life. When the rancor died it really shook him up. Think about it. It would be like if you were the guy who taught a killer whale all of its tricks and spent a lot of time with it. When it died it would probably be a tough loss because of how much time you spent with it and how important it was to you.

He was one of the Rancor keepers. He had an emotional bond with the creature as its caretaker & also had limited mental skills as well I'm assuming so his attachment would have been more so than normal. Also, he knew Jabba the Hutt would probably kill him out of anger over the loss of his prized pet the Rancor.

The "fat guy" was Malakili, the Rancor Keeper. He was crying because it was the only known rancor specimen.

He was crying because he knew that he was going to be the one to go to the Rancors house and tell his rancwife and ranckids that their rancdaddy wasn't coming home. They had recently starred in the buddy movies "48 Parsecs" and "Another 48 Parsecs" and had developed a loving bond.

Yep, you got it, he was crying because Luke killed his pet. Just like if someone killed your pet pit bull. Granted it's mean, but you still love it and don't want it to die.
