All cellphone company's try to rip you off. Verizon I know makes you pay a deposit up to $1000 and I'm not really into that although I really like the Idea of in-calling. What do you have, what is your monthly bill and what was your activation fee?

Just so you know, Verizon's "in-calling" means you have to be "on-network".. so if you happen to go into ROAMING you will be charged for every minute. Plus the alpha-tags (so it shows who's network your on) is mostly disabled so you can't tell if you are roaming.
Cingular is the best from what I can tell. Now everyone has their own reasons as to why they hate a company. Everyone feels ripped off at some point or another. But if you follow the guidelines of your plan (and READ the terms & conditions of your contract BEFORE signing it, there won't be any confusion or issues).
Cingular has plans with Rollover (possibly the best idea, and only offered by them - keep the minutes you don't use). Plus it has unlimited Mobile-to-mobile calling and Nights & weekends (just like every other carrier these days). Cingular has the biggest of all cellphone companies. They have over 67 Million customers and it is growing (more customers than Canada has people!!). Their motto is "The Customer Rules", and it for the most part seems true. Activation fee for them is $36.00 and my monthly plan is $39.99 (450mins, Unlimited mobile-to-mobile, unlimited nights & weekends and rollover).
Even if you don't like Cingular, go to all the websites and check out the things you think you need in a plan and PLEASE check the coverage maps. Happy Hunting!

I live in Manitoba and I use a local company called MTS, I get free weeknights starting at 6 and free weekends. I can also call MTS customers for free, long distance, aslong as it is in the province. I also get unlimited text messaging and call display for an additional 9$ a month.

sprint...

largest calling area
cheapest plans
7pm nights
free roaming and data roaming
highest speed internet available with largest broadband network
free incoming plan
unlimited calling to nextel
sanyo has won 3 years by jd power and associates
6pm nights avilable for 5 bucks
text message for 10 for individual, 20 for family plan on all lines
sprint live tv like fox news and sirius satellite radio for one month free

i have it and sold it to many. they love it too. trust me on this one and look into sprint with a sanyo phone. the best is a katana, m1 or 8400

rollover is nice but the average adult works 9-5 pm... if you use your minutes on cingular, its most likely charged from 5-9. for sprint, its 5-6 or 5-7.

verizon is nice but we have a larger coverage map at a cheaper price and can roam on verizon towers for free.

t-mobile has great customer service but all they are there for is dropped calls and problems with phones. with sprint sanyos give the least problems, most durable, and now rated the fewest dropped calls by www.mindwireless.com i believe the site it.

sprint gives hefty discounts for employees of thier jobs like mcdonalds and hospitals

and ask for activation fee waivers and they usually give it
