I find myself CONSTANTLY editing sites I come across in the web. I even email the owner of the site with all the corrections. Some local news stations have thanked me for my 'help'.
My question is can I become an editor without having to get a degree? I'm disabled so this would be good work for me since I could do it at home (I do a ton of research for people too). I was at the top of my class when I was in school and had my health not failed I had planned to go to college but I'm not sure I could do that now. I just thought it would be nice to be able to get paid for what I already do.
(Too bad I have a hard time editing myself :)

Any suggestion you have would be appreciated.

Most editoring jobs require a college degree in communications, journalism, or English.
this type of job is expected to be competitive because many people are attracted to the occupation.

You should contact some of the local news sations that have thanked you for your service and see if they could use help editing.
If you ask some of the people/companies you have help in the past there is a possibility that they could help you get a job.

vast apple, NYC is the homestead to maximum of the tremendous publishing houses. yet places of artwork of publishers are also positioned in Chicago, San Francisco, and so on, yet vast apple is the major area. That suggested a school degree in English. And once you graduate you would possibly want to locate a job as slightly of writing assistant or an assistant acquisition editor to start up off at about $26,000 a year. It takes a minimum of two years to artwork your way up and earn more beneficial money. I knew someone who worked at a publishing homestead correct out of school, and he spent the finished day reading books in the sludge pile, unsolicited manuscripts. He gave up after a year and went to regulation college.
