it's not so much the soap as it is the hot water that is damaging for your hands.

Some dish washing liquids are better for your hands than others. But keep in m ind that everyone would have dry hands if they washed their hands as much as they should.
Just rinse well after washing the dishes and then moisturize with a good hand cream before completely drying your hands this should help and prevent extra dry hands.

Well if your hands are in water all day it's going to dry them out, plus if you use a harsh soap as well it's really going to dry them out. Use Palmolive, it's my favorite as my hands are constantly in water with soap and it's the best on germs, dirt, grime, etc and great on the hands.
Gloves will help retain moisture if your overall goal is to have no dryness at all. A really good lotion like Vaseline's 18 hour repair does wonders after washing things.. Give that a try as well.

It depends, certain brands advertise like Pamolive " Keeps your hand soft and your dishes shiny" or something like that. However, at all times try to use gloves if it is not a bother. The powerful chemicals used to clean off grease and also destroy the oils on your skin, making it dry. Try to use a lotion like Vaseline or Dove. Hope that helps =]

No dishwashing liquid isn't good for your hands, but then again neither is laundry detergent. Dishwashing liquid is designed to clean your dishes, not be good to your hands.
If you are sensitive and experience irritation symptoms when using it, you should use gloves when washing dishes, however most people don't have this problem.
Just moisturize your hands with lotion after you're done using it. I always keep lotion ready around the house.

Are they dry all year long or just during the cold weather just like your lips, hands get chapped and dry in the winter! I blame it on heat it drys the air so bad and your skin and your hair etc... take notice if it happens in warmer weather without heat going in the house. If so next year get a humidifier in your house when you turn the heat on. I hope this helps. I used a humdifier and I feel like a found the fountain of youth my skin my hair my house the dust it actually wash the air and puts moisture in the air!
