hi anthony! you can erase all of the songs from your ipod a couple of different ways, but don't forget that unless u r managing ur music manually, u will need to remove the songs from ur itunes too, or else u will resync ur songs back to ur ipod next time u plug it into ur computer. here are some things u can try:
- delete all of ur music from itunes and resync ur ipod (wait! do u really want to do this??)
- restore ur ipod to factory settings (wait! do u really want to do this??): http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
more than likely, u want to do this instead:
- make sure u have the "manage music and videos manually" option selected (when u plug ur ipod into ur computer, itunes will display a screen - on the Summary tab of this screen, check the box next to "manage music and videos manually").
- on the left side of itunes where ur ipod shows up in the list, click the arrow just to the left of ur ipod name. the arrow will turn into a "down arrow" and display a list beneath ur ipod. click the "Music" item in this list and the music on ur ipod will be displayed in the right side of the itunes window.
- now select all of the songs (from the right side of the itunes window), then right-click on the selected songs and click 'delete' from the menu. all of the songs should now be erased from ur ipod.
- finally download the songs you want, and manually drag them from the itunes Library to the Music item in the list below ur ipod. and there u go!
once ur jammin to the new music on ur ipod, please subscribe to my FREE video podcast on iTunes: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=183309259
