>> More than likely it is NOT cervical cancer but you should go to the Dr. for sure. A pap is not that bad really! . I am a 4 year uterine cancer survivor and I am pretty sure that the cure rate is even better for cervical cancer IF IN FACT that is what it is. I have a friend that had cervical cancer at the age of 21 and she is now 44 and another who has been fine for 3 years since treatment.

go to the dr, there are lots of things that can cause abnormal periods. Cancerous cells can be a cause, but dont worry they can be removed and are usually picked up in pap smears, that's why it's important to have them every 6months-2yrs. Low Iron levels, weight change, & other things cause spotting, go to the dr have a chat to them

Unless you have pain that you didn't before don't worry about it. Mine have always been irregular and I've been menstruating since the age of 11. Let's say I'm in my thirties. I get them sometimes like that 3 weeks of regular days with some just light or spotting. No don't think you have cancer. Tell your mom or an adult female you trust. They will explain to you what you don't know.

You need to see a Gyn because you are having unusual bleeding.
The cause can be anything from hormonal imbalance to, yes, cancer. If you catch the cancer early enough it can be stopped. But, more often than not, it is hormonal. Whatever the problem is it can be fixed.
I had the same problem. One period I had never stopped. I went to my Gyn and she stopped the bleeding.

You will be scared as long as you do not know what it is. You really need to go to the doctor. It does NOT mean you have cancer. It could mean a number of other things. I have had many many abnormal pap smears. I do not have cancer. My sister has abnormal bleeding and she has endometriosis.
Here is a website that talks about abnormal cycles: http://womenshealth.about.com/cs/menstruation/a/menstruabnormal.htm
Is My Period Normal?
From time to time, every women suspects that her menstrual cycle is abnormal for one reason or another. However, often what we think is an abnormal period is actually normal menstruation. How do you know when you're experiencing abnormal periods? What are the signs and symptoms of abnormal periods? You may be experiencing an abnormal period, abnormal uterine bleeding, or an abnormal menstrual cycle if...
your menstrual cycle is longer than 31 to 35 days apart, or less than two weeks from day one of your period to day one of your next period.
you need to change tampons or sanitary pads after only one or two hours.
your period lasts longer than 7 days.
you suddenly begin experiencing severe menstrual cramps. While it's normal to experience a small amount of cramping during your period and some women never experience cramps during menstruation, it's not normal to experience severe menstrual cramps.

Stress will change your cycle. Your eating habits will change your cycle. You should really see your doctor since you are having a different cycle. Discuss with your doctor about your fears and changes you may have had. He/she will then let you know if where you need to go from there. If your period is abnormal you really should see a doctor. The worst is not knowing.
Here is a website about getting your first papsmear:
What You Need to Know if You are Having Your First Pap Smear
It's very common for women to feel anxiety about having their first Pap smear. Some women feel so intimidated by the test they delay getting tested. This is largely due to not knowing exactly how the test is done.
A Pap smear is simple, painless, and takes only minutes to perform. Here are some common questions women have:
What is a Pap Smear?
A Pap smear is simple test that screens for cervical cancer. The test involves the collection of cells from the cervix to be examined under a microscope. It is not a diagnostic test, however, and if any abnormalities are discovered, more testing may be needed.
Why Do I need a Pap Smear?
A Pap smear can detect abnormal cervical changes before they can become cancerous. It is a highly effective tool for cervical cancer screening and prevention.
When Should I Get My First Pap Smear?
The American Cancer Society recommends having your first Pap smear three years after becoming sexually active, or by age 21, whichever comes first.
Older women who have never had the test should also have a Pap smear. If you have any doubts, ask your health care provider.
How do I Prep for a Pap Smear?
Try to schedule your Pap smear when you are not menstruating. If your cycle is unpredictable, and you start your period when it will coincide with your appointment, call your doctor's office as soon as possible to see if the doctor may recommend rescheduling.
To ensure that you get the most accurate results, it is recommended that 48 hours before having a Pap smear you should not:
have sex
douche
use tampons
use spermicidal foams, creams, or inserts
use vaginal creams or suppositories
All of these things can wash away or hide abnormal cells.
Go to the website to learn more about how they do it. You should always try to relax. It is hard to do as I know. I have had many a trip and have had many abnormal papsmears. I do not have cancer. I would suggest you see a doctor since you are worried as it will help ease your mind. I will say some prayers for you. Hugs to you. You will be fine. Positive thoughts sent your way. http://cancer.about.com/od/screeninganddiagnosis/a/firstpapsmear.htm

when i was 16 this happened to me, and my mom took me to the doctor, and i had a pelvic exam, at the time i was a virgin,i was put on birth control to regulate it, it was more than spotting.I am in my 40's now,but it needs to be checked out. 2 benign calcifications were found on my breast, and i have to have another mammogram. You have to take care of yourself. I commend you for staying a virgin, i did until i was married.
