Use higher speed CDs or DVDs..... For CDs maybe 48x.

You should setup the parameters by going to the Nero folder in your programs, and then to Nero tools and then to drive speed. It opens minimized so you will have to go get it from the system tray(down by the clock) Once it is on the screen click options, and make sure you set it for all of your CD/DVD's. Click on detect, and you can set it to open the next time maximized and to remember your settings. You are still limited by the speed of the disks you buy or put into the drive.

it should give you that option to select speed just before you burn
