Do as mentioned above... but depending on your keyboard you may also need to turn off the F-Lock... It's the key above the Num-Lock key above the numerica keypad on the right.

Press the 'Print Screen' (Print Scr) key located to the RIGHT of the F12 key. Then, open any image or photo editing software you prefer (such as MSPaint) and press CTRL + V or go to Edit > Paste.
F12 is generally used to take screen shots in 3D shooter and other such games.

You can hit CTRL-Print Screen and paste into a program such as PAINT. You can also install Irfanview which whill take screenshot and save them directly to a file.. this is a free program that you can download at www.irfanview.net

Press the PrintScreen key
Open MSPaint and press Ctrl+V to paste it into the edit window
If you do an Alt+PrintScreen it will only capture the active window.

If you want to take a print of your desktop then be sure there are no active windows and that the task bar is in auto hide.
Press.. alt+prt scr... buttons. Then... ctrl+v ...to paint program.

Just press the "PrintScreen" button. It's usually abbreviated to PrtScn. The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard and you can paste is to any image processing program.

You just heard it wrong, it is Print Screen at the top of the insert keys. then paste it anywhere in word or paint. goodluck
