I got the essay question today.
The question is that expain how political campaigns of the Gilded Ages were "all show and no go".
I couldn't even understand the question itself.
What is the meaning of "all show and no go"?
If anyone could help me out it would be very helpful.

Lots of fancy stuff talked about, but no one actually made any real and concrete promises about what they were going to do.

Like the previous answer but a little different...big promises made but no actions occurred to act them out. Kind of like those chocolate bunnies at Easter that are hollow once you bite into them...not quite what you'd expect.

All show and no go is like having a new Corvette without the 427 engine.
