Sounds like your built to play a catcher but if your really worried about your knees...

Second base or if you have a good enough arm pitching (this will likely require quite a bit of additional training).

Edit: Also if your team is playing under American League rules you could always try your hand at being a Designated Hitter. You might be able to better utilze your stength in that position if it is available.

If you can't play first or catcher for whatever reason, try right field. If you have a good arm and decent speed, that would be a good spot. Other people with your type of build have played the outfield...Tony Gwynn, Kevin Mitchell, Greg Luzinski.

Have you ever tried pitching?
With all of your leg strength, it seems like you could bring a nice heater.
Or maybe THIRD [<-- yeah!] or outfield. Because you can throw far [i'm assuming, with your leg strength] so you could be a huge asset for those positions.

Sounds like you are built more for football than baseball. With your size, and first base unavailable, your best shot would be the D.H.

Even though you said you don't want to hurt your knees playing catcher, i think that you would have your best shot at being catcher. (<-- catcher is the best position (JK),I play ) As other people have said, you would probably be best at 3rd base. Best of luck!

3rd base for your size, and as long you have a good arm it won't be much different than 1st.
if your arm isn't in good shape, and your fast 2nd would be pretty good for you.
If all else fails try outfield and work on your batting.

Probably 3rd base if you can make the throw across the diamond.

if you're quick and athletic (sounds like you are...more than just strong) try third base...

Why can't you stay at first???
