my doctor told me i should papsmear so is it ok even i have my period?pls any one nurse out there or doctor give a advice

Most doctors will tell you to wait until your off your period. I would seriously think about doing that. Cause that would be a bloody mess!

I know that a lot of gynos have changed to the "ThinPrep" test or whatever they named it and you CANNOT be on your period when they do a papsmear. I have had to rescedule due to it. Call the doc and make sure which test they use for that kind of exam. It's better than getting there, waiting an hour and being sent home because you're on you period, lol.

best to get a papsmear after your period finishes its more clearer as i have been told off my doctor

No. Papsmears should be done after you are done with your period.
It's hard to diagnose treatment if there is blood on the petri dish.

I would advise you wait until your period is over, because once they send your work to the lab, they might not be able to read the cells because of other fluid being in the way. You want to make sure nothing will stand in the way of clear results, otherwise you will have to get another one if it is unreadbale.

It is perfectly safe to you, but isn't the ideal time in your cycle to have the cells examined b/c the test may be harder to interpret.

yeah but you might feel weird having someone look down there when you are on it. call the doctor and ask them if they do that. I am pretty sure they do so its just your choice

i think no, it will only give a false result, do try after your period.
