WASHINGTON: The U.S. military is considering installing surveillance cameras in recruiting stations across the country, the most dramatic of several new steps to address a rise in misconduct allegations against military recruiters, including sexual assaults on female prospects and bending the rules to meet quotas.

I wonder if college recruiters are next. ;o)

Seriously - quite a few people I've talked to from out-of-state said they were certainly misled.

But I think tightening the rules can only be a good thing.

Nothing new. It has been going on for decades!

They make a lot of promises, but the military often does not deliver!

As far as the female issue, I can imagine that happening! Though it only takes a few bad apples! I don't remember that as much of an issue, and especially in basic as initially when I went in they were WAC's and did their all female training at Ft. McClellan, AL, where some of us use to go on the weekends to pick up (date) women!

Now it is an entirely different army, but still very patriarchal! I think it is unfair to put a wo,an on the same level as men when they are largely outnumbered and often cannot protect themselves, and that goes even for high ranking individuals using their authority as a mechanism to keep someone silent!

I am not saying women should be treated differently, but the fact remains, they are!

they did no longer tell me. of direction distinctive what you're saying is crap any way. a million of three females raped in the militia. the place do they get this nonsense ? females never get raped in college although suited ? never discover artwork different than as a cop ? it is so stupid its no longer humorous. in case you enlist in the Marines as Infantry you're no longer likely to get the training an Air tension Avionics Tech gets. no person loses limbs in motor vehicle injuries, has nightmares or psychological well-being themes in the civilian international suited ? some people arrive on the gates of the backside with themes and proceed to have all of them for the duration of their provider (and previous) this is why there are discharges for unsuitability for provider.. in case you do no longer desire in, stay out. For the rest people a militia profession might nicely be a stepping stone up from a foul situation to a lifelong skill and advantages.

In the last year, I've heard about more teachers molesting students than recruiters and recruits. Maybe we should have cameras in classrooms for the same reason.

I don't think I can answer that. They lower the ASVAB score requirements, and then this? completely contradictory! I'd say it's a facade to make it seem like someone would be safe and watched out for in the military.

In all honesty they treat us more like crooks than US soldiers!
