There is some proof to support the theory of evolution.Humans are simply another species on this great earth ball that should be the only God for everyone on it. We are still witnessing evolution today. And if you read the bible is it fair to only pick out the good parts? There's alot of crazy stuff in that book. It's an interesting story that has been rewritten many times. Where's the proof of divine power? I sure think there are alot more prayers unanswered then answered. No God of Good would accept such cruel things happening to good people. They happen cause there is no miracle man. We as humans have all the power and responsibilities. As soon as we accept this, quit passing the buck to an invisible being, things will begin to get better. I am a realist at 41 yrs. I am very happy to know this i shall be good because it is the right thing to do. Instead of praying we should all get off our butts and do something. PEACE>

Religion and god is as real as the tooth fairy....primitive man needed the 'religious experience' to survive in a hostile universe. The unknown was explained by the supernatural, the idea of an afterlife cushioned people from the grim aspects of death, in short, it was a survival mechanism developed within the temporal lobe of all human brains.

Modern man has developed rational thought and controls much of the environment, to the extent of knowing how 'things operate'. But obsolete genes do not die overnight, therefore you'll always be seeing people believing in religion, god and the supernatural.

I read about some interesting studies by scientists of the temporal lobe regions that are 'mis-firing' or giving off 'unbalanced' neuroligical signals. Some of the studies are intrigueing, they can duplicate 'religious experiences' in blind tests of humans.

It was already known that the more primitive limbic system of our brains contain the raw emotion where our religious beliefs spring forth. The development of the cerebral cortex (or the thinking and rational part of the brain) is only a recent development in humans, say the last 40,000-100,000 years.

It is also well known that the 'god-gene' (for lack of a better description) is triggered during times of duress, high anxiety, near death or starvation, and other high emotional episodes. It was our survival instinct that developed this so-called god-gene. Now, scientists can atificially trigger that response under laboratory conditions by narrowing the focus to the temporal regions of the brain. Further studies are being conducted to study this gene and its effect on our development as a species

Belief in any god requires a leap of faith, much like belief in evolution.
Define God. Is 'God' the St. Anselm definition? That than which nothing greater can be conceived? Or is it the Creator of everything?
Buddha was an enlightened man, not a god. Buddhism is an atheistic religion.
Jehovah and Allah are the Judeo-Christian and Islamic gods, respectively. Don't forget to include Brahman from Hinduism, and there are various other religions with gods.
There is no concrete evidence proving the existence of any of these gods. Simply saying, "God exists because the Bible says so" is flawed. It already presumes the existence of the God. You alone can decide what god or God is right for your beliefs, if any, because belief requires opening yourself up to something illogical. Even believing in the system of logic requires a leap of faith.
It is up to you to find what works for you. There is no evidence, regardless of what others say, that proves the existence of any of these gods.

There is no God. God is an imaginary figure to ease the unbelievable to humans- that there is no higher purpose in life and there is no afterlife.

The fear of death is so strong and our need to find meaning so overwhelming that people over time have created many gods.

It defies imagination the think that the God one believes in started in a certain date when the message came from disciples and the 400,000 years before that there was no real god.

If defies imagination that the horrors committed in this earth, the evils perpetuated by human, often on behalf of a God is actually reflects the will of a God or is permitted by a God.

The Great God Jehovah. There are many, many names for Him; Jehova Rafa (Healer), Jehovah Jirah (provider)... ... but none of the names include Buddha or Allah. God Almighty will not be found in religion. Christianity is not a religion. Religion is man's way to God. Christianity is God's way to [dwell within, have fellowship with, His creation] man. Christ fulfilled true religion (Judaism) when He died [sacrificed Himself for mankind's sin] and rose again [giving mankind a direct link to God the Father through Himself]. The writings in the Koran has it's roots in Cain, Adam & Eve's son who killed his brother Abel because Abel offered a more perfect sacrifice than Cain and God found favor with Abel and not Cain, so Cain got pissed about it and killed him and God marked Cain for eternity. This is where the Muslim religion Islam originates. Cain is dead. Buddah is dead, you can go to his grave today and he's still in it. Christ and the Great God Jehova are alive and He will come back to this planet to rule and reign; His creation will praise Him, if it's not you and me, then the rocks and the trees will cry "Lord!" His name is Jesus and His government will know no end.
Oh yeah, there's plenty of evidence, DNA has been traced back to one man and one woman; all creation testifies to Him.

I'm afraid that the only evidence you will find to answer your question is personal or is hearsay.

You either believe in God or you don't. If you believe, it doesn't matter what you call God unless you subscribe to a specific religion; it's the same God. Unless of course you subscribe to the many Gods religion, in which case, I suspect there is one God up on top that would qualify as the supreme God... As in Thor or Zeus. Then of course, if you're Atheist, there is no God, so it wouldn't have a name.

I am a Unitarian. I start my prayers with "To Whom it may concern". (UU joke)

I AM THAT I AM

I believe there is 1 god, and people of different faiths recognize that 1 god differently, and give god different names. I think it is difficult for us as humans to comprehend god or the meaning of life.

I think it's wrong for people to think they know, people are growing and changing everyday, and everyday they might have a new opinion. An experience can change what a person thinks, yet before that experience, that person thought they knew.

God, divine being, savior, Christ, Buddha, Allah, Akbar, etc. whatever you call your divine role model is all based on your own belief. No one can force you to believe in Christ or Buddha no matter how hard he tries unless you already have belief in one of these or both of these beings.

Atheist, agnostic, infidel, skeptic refer to persons not inclined toward religious belief or a particular form of religious belief. An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings. An agnostic is one who believes it impossible to know anything about God or about the creation of the universe and refrains from commitment to any religious doctrine. Infidel means an unbeliever, especially a nonbeliever in Islam or Christianity. A skeptic doubts and is critical of all accepted doctrines and creeds.

In the end, it depends on what you truly believe. If you truly have a testimony to a deity, then believe him or her. I personally am Christian but I didn't join the church because I was persuaded but because I truly believe.

Budda is not a god, you spelled "jahova" wrong and the correct god is God the father of Jesus.

There is no god at all. My evidence is to simply point out that there is NO evidence to support the alternatives. In ALL history there has NEVER been ANY verifiable evidence to even suggest that any gods exist.
