I lived in Phoenix for a few months in '93, and its total metro population is quite a bit more than Calgary, where I currently live. (Though I think Calgary proper is bigger than Phoenix proper). So Phoenix metro for me.

I live since 1980 up to now in the biggest city Jakarta the capital city of Indonesia. Its inhabitant during work day is about 13 million but at night its population is only 9 million.
Jakarta is a special metropolitan city headed by a governor under the Interior Minister. It lies in west of Java .Jakarta is surrounded by other cities i.e Bekasi in the east,Bogor in the south and Tangerang in the west..They are 3 million workers of other cities around Jakarta work at Jakarta. They come to Jakarta by motor cars, motor cycles ,buses and commuter trains. So Jakarta is very crowded..We have a biggest harbour called Tanjung Priok in the north bay of Jakarta. We have also a biggest international airport called SUKARNO HATTA.It lies in Tangerang region.
