If I say I'm going to spend a few days in the mountains, vs. a couple, which one is longer? Are the terms synonymous? Few vs. couple? Thanks.

This is easy... a couple is "two" and a few is "3 or more"...

A few means 4 and a couple is 2, so 4 is more.

I always thought a couple referred to two and a few was three...several being more than three. I'd definitely choose to spend several days in the mountain!

a couple is more like 2. If you told me that you were going to spend a couple of days in the mountains, I would assume that you'd be spending a weekend there.

a few is greater than 2. If you told me that you were going to be spending a few days in the mountains, I would assume that it was anything from 3 days to a week.
