Did I mention this cold is really BAD!? :-)
My eyes are actually tearing down my face. I sneeze like 20-30 times an hour and my nose is combo stuffy/runny and just runs on it's own suddenly.
I took tylenol cold/multi symptom- but it almost seems to have made me worse. Why would that be?
I know I am the Mom and should have all the answers- but I just don't know what to do right now. (I haven't overmedicated so it's not a rebound effect thing)
This is one of the worst colds ever.

Start drinking as much water as you can. You need to flush your body.
A hot bath would works well also.
Feel better!

You could possibly have a bad sinus infection or really bad allergies. You should really see a doctor. Let me let you in on a little secret though. I used to suffer from chronic sinus infections and colds and I just could not bare taking antibiotics anymore for them. I had another really bad sinus infection so I found something called a Neti Pot, I used it and my infection was gone in 2 days, where antibiotics would take at least 10 days... It irrigates your sinuses and if you use it like every other day, you will never have a cold or sinus infection again. I haven't gotten sick since I started using mine 2 yrs ago, not even the flu...nothing. There's another product on the market called Simply Saline that works the same way but can get expensive. With the Neti Pot, you just mix your own saline solution and it's so inexpensive. You can find them at health food stores. It's the best thing that ever happened to me.

With these strong viruses, you just have to let it run its course. Try some other medicine for just nasal congestion and sneezing. Drink hot tea and put a halls cough drop right in the tea and let it dissolve. It works pretty good because of the vapors. I hope that you feel better soon.

okay one thing: get lots of rest :)
rest helps FOR SURE
and water too

second
lots of people develop colds when under stress, particularly emotional stress, and tend to work late, drink lots of caffiene, not enough sleep, etc.
so one thing would help, is get back to your regular normal 'diet'
what you normally do, sleep at whatever time is best for you, wake up at a normal rate, eat regularly with the things you need from the food pyramid

haha well i'm just saying what helps me
since i mean.. i'm just 13 and theres nothing much that i really know about
but my parents are pharmacists, and my science teacher told us a lot about our immune sysstem
so i hope it helps (:

but one thing i think you should definitely do is
sleep (:
it helped me last week when i got a horrible cold

Girlfriend...if I were you, I would make a hot toddy and get in bed. Have you ever tried "Theraflu" severe cold, nightime formula. It works great. You drink it hot, and is very soothing, and lemony. And don't forget the Vicks, on your chest and the bottom of your feet, and get in bed. Sure hope you feel better. It is tough being sick when your the mom.

Like, colds are contracted via the spread of infected droplets in the air which, like, can land on surfaces which you, like, then might touch and, like, transfer into your body. Or, like, you could breath the infected particles, like, directly into your respiratory tract if, like, you are standing in their trajectory.
