Where do you go to get answers on labor laws concerning employees who service the MRDD Community. The house I was working with, brought in a whole new staff. What are my rights?

well here are the 3 horrible words that make that possible "at will employee" anytime anyplace any reason.

The mental health industry doesn't receive any special treatment under federal law. Unless the laws of your state grant special protection to your industry, the people you speak of generally are at will employees. People are generally at will employees unless they are civil servants, are part of a union or have a contract.

In most states, being an "at will" employees means you can be fired at any time for almost any reason so long as it is not explicitly illegal such as racial discrimination. Notice is generally not required.

So are you still working there or not? You state in the first sentence of this post "what if your not fired" either you're still working there or you're not. They can fire you without notice or explanation they can also lay you off. Your rights are to find another job.
