Obviously not a lineman (offensive or defensive), or a linebacker. I think the other guy that said RB is wrong. Thats too much pounding. Either WR or CB is preferable.

I wouldn't worry too much. You have LOTS of time to improve. Right now the question is what position do you want to play, if you know what position you would love to be at then work hard towards achieving that spot.

To get faster, run uphill. Sprints though, short bursts, nothing long distance, as football is not a marathon, but consists of bursts and rests. Don't run up a hill too steep though, you want to run on an incline that allows you to maintain the same running from as you do on level ground. Try running 40's with ankle weights. By the time youre done and take them off you will feel lighter and be able to run much faster.

As far as everything else, its all up to you. Lift weights, as its never too early to do so. Getting strong by the time high school comes is a great factor. Watch football games and go to some high school games. Being smart in football can never help enough. Learn your position you want because you've got a couple years before you'll be required to have one position.

You DRASTICALLY need to increase your speed a way to do this is get 60 yards of running room and sprint 40 yards rest 30 seconds and repeat 5 times. You definitly will see some increase after a month or two of doing this. It doesnt matter how fast you run a mile because football is 4 seconds full energy then 30 seconds rest. You should also do exercises for your hamstrings like squats just do the sprint technique 4-5 a week and no slacking!

For now your a lineman or fullback

Tailback or Quaterback in pop warner before high school the quick guys handle the ball, dont know the other athlets on your team but if I was your coach and your that fast I would try to get the ball in the fastest player on the fields hands. Unfortunately at your level not a lot of talent to pass the ball to often so RB's and QB will get most if not all of touches.

The nice thing about you is that you are young. You can really play whatever position you feel like at the moment.

I don't remember entirely but I feel like 5'5" is taller than I was in 7th grade, so receiver might be a good position. You'd be a coaches dream if you can go get balls over DB's.

If you like hitting people though, I'd go with defensive end.

Depends on if you've gone through your growth spurt or not.
If you have, than kids our age {I'm only a year younger than you, but those dimensions that you described are mine exactly} would probably be best at wide receiver or a tailback. If you are still to get to the 6 foot 4 range, than I would go for QB if you have a good arm. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DB.

@ Jay. No one can run a 4 flat 40. A 4.2 40 in the NFL is Amazing.

Runing back definatly. you are small and fast. like reggie bush or something. just get some ankle wieghts and parachutes, and run hard. work on that 40 time and remeber, backs take a whole lot of hits, so dont even think about bein a back if you are scared to get hit.
