You want them first to know they are loved, you want them to know they can come to you for anything, give them all the memories of you spending the night beside them when they were sick, and the nights you read to them before bed, playing ball or dress up (lol) everything.. Dont forget they need the rules of life, you can be there best friend too... I know with my kids they ask me anything at there early ages of 5,7, and 8.. I dont want that to change.. They Know I love them.. Sometimes I will say there name and they will say Yes mom I love you too. Dont get me wrong I am far from as perfect as I would have hoped to be, but I am being the best I know how.. Fallow your heart, and I wish you the best of luck...

For us it has been told by both they remember how much we did as a family example
No matter what we ate together every school night sometimes late but we did
We always prayed together
Every holiday we stayed together as a family and always had the grandparents with us (roots lots of roots)
Best of all Dad shared his hobby of cars and Mom her Art

You want them to see you as an example of love to God, your wife and them. To see kindness, respect and consideration for others. To see good work habits and fun times with them.
