Usually in itunes it will say so and so's ipod and under that is all the songs on ur ipod well mine doesnt have one of those anymore. And all my songs are missing. And then to get songs onto my ipod now i have to put the music onto itunes then unplug the ipod and then plug it into the computer again so the songs will transfer onto the ipod. So i need to know how to get my songs back and why do i have to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in to the computer just to get songs on my ipod?????? Please HELP me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This happened to me last week. I had to download the latest itunes software again & then re-synch music, movies, etc.

i think you should check your options in your ipod. it is located at the bottom of the itunes where the ipod icon is, uncheck the "automatically update songs" and change it to "manually change songs". it think it is the reason why you're ipod keeps on updating the songs that you have and erasing those songs that you have in your ipod.
