You're a terrible person. How can you even use the word "borrowed" ? What you did was steal. I don't see any way of giving it back unless you admit to the theft and ask for forgiveness. If you're too ashamed to do this, then let it go, but maybe you could take her out to lunch a couple of times in order to pay it back. Insist on paying even if she says she will pay for her own lunch.

that isnt borrowed my friend. Obviously it has been on your mind. I suggest you find a way to put it back since it never belonged to you in the first place. I can understand that fessing up to it may be out of the question considering the risks. If you dont put it back, i think it'll bother you more. So figure out a way when she isn't around. And another thing. Dont ever take money like that from someone, its stealing......and you would never want anyone doin it to you. Good luck

YES, you should put the money back! Regardless of your chances of getting caught...if you were brave enough to steal it then you should be brave enough to put it back. You did not borrow...you stole! If you did it without consent, it was the same as stealing! If your feeling guilty, then maybe you do have a conscience...if you don't put it back...then you have no conscience what so ever!!! PUT IT BACK! Or give it back! Good Luck!

Totally put it back. It's bad enough you "borrowed" it to begin with if you get caught, well that's just the end result of doing the deed.

put it back in her purse while she's not looking. if you were able to "borrow" it without her noticing, you should have no trouble returning it. $40 is a lot to some people so unfortunately, you probably shouldn't just let it go.

firstly that wasn't borrowing that was stealing and second you must pay it back one way or another try putting it in her top draw of her desk or in an envelope and say that someone droped it off and asked you to give it to her.
i think you should get caught and fired as a result of not being truthful

I'd pay it back. Even if you did get caught, you can just explain the whole thing. It's better to have it out of your mind and you'll have a clear conscience.

Yes, you should definately pay it back. That's the right thing to do. Could you sleep at night if you didn't? You could very well lose your job or even be arrested if you "borrow" like that again.

You managed to steal it when she was away from the cubicle, surely you can return it while she's away.
But be honest, you nothing but a thief looking for an excuse to keep the money.

It's called stealing not borrowing. They are two very different things. Put the money back.
