What do you think of pet strollers? Do you think there dumb?
And are you aloud to take your pet stroller into stores?

For all the people saying its dumb to bring them into the store, would you rather them sitting in the freezing/hot car all day while your shopping? I would probably take my dog into the store if i had a stroller (thinking about getting one for my lazy Basset Hound).

I don't think they're dumb at all...they're a great way to protect your dog from germs and people. Also, if you have an older dog, a stroller would make him a happy boy. I'm not sure about the store thing, it probably depends on where you live...maybe next time you're out shopping you can ask the store managers what their policies are...good luck!

I think that they are stupid. The whole idea of taking your pet for a walk is not for the pet to get fresh air. It is to let the pet get some exercise and take care of it's "business". I have the same opinion on those silly dog "purses" that people like Paris Hilton keep their tiny little dogs in to carry around.

If your Basset is lazy, most likely he has a weight condition as well(I know Bassets can be pretty heavyset). He is the last dog that needs a stroller. He needs to get out and move. It will keep his joints from getting stiff as well.

A stroller may be a good idea for an old dog, or a dog with a health condition that doesn't allow it to walk long distances. But for a healthy dog, it is stupid.

You can't take your pet stroller into stores like grocery stores or the mall. I think the probably violates all sorts of health codes. The only animals allowed in regular stores are service animals. I don't see why you couldn't take it into pet stores, as they allow pets usually anyways.

I think that they are stupid and self-indulgent for the owners. Unless the dog has physical problems that prevent it from walking (such as severe hip dysplasia or arthritus) there is no need for a stroller and being in a stroller will actually HARM your pet in the long run. Dogs need exercise and they can suffer life-long health issues unless they get enough of it.

Basset hounds have very short legs, but they can walk well - just not quickly. Just remember to pace yourself so that the dog isn't running all the time to keep up with you.

And no, you are not allowed to bring dogs, even in strollers, into a lot of stores. It depends on the store policies, but many stores do not permit it for hygene and safety issues.

These are not only idiotic, they are bad for your pet unless your dog has problems walking.
first, your dog is not a baby. I don't care if you dress it up and put it in a stroller, it is still not a baby. A dog DESERVES to be treated like a dog and not as some other type of animal.
second, dogs want to walk. they do not want to be carried or put into a stroller - dogs should walk.
Dogs should be permitted in public places provided they are on leash and well behaved (meaning no aggression and no random peeing).

IF your dog has problems walking in the hind end, a dog wheelchair is better for him because it keeps the strength in the limbs that are used. if the dog has problems walking in the front end or both ends, then a stroller is an excellent idea.

I think they are adorable! And it is a safe and comfortable way to see the world. Yes, I would imagine you can take them into stores. The only questionable place would be where they serve food. But if the animal is contained they may allow it. The reason they don't allow animals in alot of places is because of accidents on the floors (where people can slip) and the danger of a child or someone being bit. Lawsuits and the Health Dept, you know. But if the animal is not allowed out of the stroller there shouldn't be a problem. It would be the same as taking an animal inside in a pet carrier. Plus it is MUCH better than leaving them in a vehicle, especially in the summer.

Only if they are used for medical alerts ,like they let you know if you are about to have a seizure or something. They are great to use for small dogs that can't stay up with you running or won't.Mostly just for looks. They are good for outdoor baseball games ,just to keep people from picking on your dog. Some stores will allow dogs and others won't ,but some people are so sloppy and don't pick up after their dogs and that is the reason and also if their is food in a store their are strict regulation .You just have to check. Here's another thing to think about you can not push two things and shop????So unless you are just strolling and showing off your pet you can't get much done.Consider what you would use it for before you buy,Don't for get your pup needs exercise too. They are cute to look at but consider how and when it would be useful.Good Luck have fun with your Baby!!!!!!!!

My dog will walk to the point of being exhausted and then I must hold him. He also gets stressed out because people want to pet him all the time, and he is frightened of street grates. He needs time to regroup and rest. Sometimes dogs have special needs and as a pet owner, I do not want to leave him home as he does not do well with loneliness. Some dogs have unique needs and, as pet owners, we do whatever we can to make their lives as full as possible. A stroller is the perfect solution for my pet.

Well, I just bought one.
It was affordable and now I am mentally getting ready for people pointing fingers at me.
The thing is - I have a cat that sits at home alone all day. He is used to the leash and I always carry him outside in a little pet-backpack.
A few times we were surprised by dog walkers and then my cat panicked so it wasn't a nice experience to any of us (I ended up badly scratched twice).
I am hoping to reduce our stress, get my cat more accustomed to changes and also be able to venture a bit further away without carrying a 7 kilo worth of a cat on my back.
Oh - an exercise - my cat just sits next to me staring, sniffing and listening - he is just too preoccupied to do any movements anyways except some attempts of tree climbing.

I stay in San Diego ... puppy city 2007 in some fancy mag ... and that i see them oftentimes. opt to communicate unusual? people even placed bunnies in them ... so your chi should be effective!! Google them or verify the internet web pages ... there are some that appear like conventional youngster strollers and individuals will oooh and aaah over your puppy, no longer aspect and chortle at you for the stroller! the different plan should be to placed her in a dogs wearing bag or one in all those (even goofier than a stroller) backpack or the front %. issues - now that can make me aspect and chortle! have thrilling!

I personally wouldn't use a pet stroller but to each their own. I don't think most stores would want people to bring in their pets unless they are pet stores that encourage their customers to bring in their pets.
