I didn't rinse this stuff before adding it to my 30 gallon tank. All that is in the tank right now is a mixture of 15 pounds of Flourite seachem, 25 pounds of gravel, and 30 gallons of foggy foggy water. There is no filtration yet, just sitting foggy water. I do have a fluorescent light, should I put it on?

You have two ways to go. Either you start over and wash this clay and small particles out. Or you just empty the water and refill not disturbing the Flourite. I can tell you right now this stuff has to be rinsed. It literally looks like mud water when you do it. If you don't want to start over you might always have foggy water anytime you stir things up in your tank. Now if you have a gravel cleaner this can help with the cleaning but you are better off starting over and rinsing and rinsing and rinsing and you'll get the point when you start.

You really need a filter for your tank. The foggy water won't clear up until you either change the water and rinse the flourite, or until you add the filter and let it run for a few days. I've had flourite as well and it didn't clear up for a few hours, though I washed mine for about 30 minutes before adding it to the aquarium. You can put your light on however, but it won't do much if the water is just red. I'd say to do a water change, and get a filter asap. Best wishes to you!

you need to start the filtration or the silacate will just float in the water and not settel in to cycle.yes you should have rinsed it first but no harm(the gravel also). do a 1/3 water change and start up your filter. if you just run an airstone the water will not clear. good luck

for this reason I by no ability understood why human beings advise including flora in the process the cycle, they are comfortable to the better tiers purely like fish. in keeping with risk they might help in a cycle with fish yet no longer a fishless cycle in my adventure. it is the cycle killing the flora, no longer the substrate. enable the tank cycle, then attempt lower back.
